I Really ZIne-k So

If you’re following us on Facebook (and you really, really should be–just search for “Alt Press”), then you’ve glimpsed the inter-cultural amazingness currently displayed on Level 2 at the Main Library.

Higher Ground Learning: Team Stink Bug Zine workshop

Bonnie Kaye Varga Cooper headed up this fantastic zine workshop at Higher Ground Learning this week. The title/concept came about after a stink bug wandered through the classroom inciting a frenzy that has been made into beautiful potato-stamp colorations. The kids all contributed and you may find their collaboration of Team Stink Bugtoday at the Alt Press Fest, 3-9pm, The City Library, 210 East 400 South, Salt Lake City! See you there…

Lucky Dragons

Lucky Dragons are a super cool music group who often work on collaborative art projects.  In 2010 they appeared at a Sumi Ink Club event in London.  Here’s a video of what happened:

We could totally make this happen in SLC.  How cool would that be?

More on the Lucky Dragons can be found here.

Come and join us for our Sumi Ink Club Event on June 16 over at Day-Riverside, 1-3 pm.
