Unwritten

It’s Mike Carey!  You know the same Mike Carey who wrote Lucifer and many other amazingly awesome comics.  Unwritten is bigger then you and me.  Everything in those pages are actually REAL.  Everything in all of the pages of every book that has ever been written is real and has power.   The more you read those pages the more power those pages have.  Here’s a secret…learn to harness that power and travel those pages.  Sorry if I just blew your mind, DUDE.

Lets get this started 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Locke & Key

I can’t get enough of Joe Hill’s Locke & Key.  In fact, I’m going through major withdrawals waiting on the June 26th release of Locke & Key Volume 5:  Clockworks.  If you heart Lovecraft, then this series is for you!  Can you believe this comic was going to be made into a TV series?  Currently FOX is trying to sell the rights of the TV adaptation and MTV has their eyes on it.  Lets cross our fingers someone picks it up and releases it.  Personally I think it would do just as good, if not better then The Walking Dead.  Watch the pilot trailer below and let me know what you think.

If you haven’t read Locke & Key yet, we have the first four volumes available for check-out:  Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3, Vol. 4

“The Bayou is a bad place. Ain’t nuthin’ good ever happened around there.”

“As hypnotic as it is unsettling.” – WIRED

If Pan’s Labyrinth took place in the South during the 1930’s, you’d have Bayou.  I wanted to describe Bayou as Pan’s Labyrinth meets Birth of a Nation, but Birth of a Nation romanticized racism and race related violence.  (Not to mention B.O.A.N. was a terrible film and Bayou is anything but terrible).  Bayou on the other hand, deals with this dark history of America, head on and at the same time gives us the fantasy to escape it.

Bayou Vol. 1 & 2 available for check out.
